No Longer Afraid of Beautiful

I will no longer be afraid of beautiful,

I won’t hide my soul from its radiant essence

or

attempt to box it up to fit your preference.

I’ll let beautiful run wild amongst my quintessence

and bleed out,

allowing it to trickle into every crack

and hidden place within me.

I will no longer be afraid of beautiful.

I won’t kiss mediocrity

in fear of beautiful’s language of love or

in fear of beautiful’s unknown version of love.

I’ll surrender my eyes

to her golden vision and watch…

Watch the seasoned chef season food

with wisdom and boastfulness.

Look at the blind man who can sense

what we often overlook.

Look over the damaged books

that have given hard truths to many

and freedom to some.

I’ll become one with the idea

that beautiful is more than visual moments.

It’s an experience of acceptance, growth and radiance

Poem about a woman who is no longer afraid of showing the world how beautiful she is.
